While the physical postures (asanas) open the body and move vital energy, the fifth step on the path to Enlightenment is Meditation (dhyana). There has been alot of research done on the positive benefits of Meditation on our brains and nervous systems, mood, sleep, focus and much more. In our fast-paced world, the mind can easily become cluttered, restless, and disconnected. Meditation is not about stopping your thoughts; it is about being the objective witness behind thought, which moves chaotic waves on the surface into the profound stillness that exists underneath. Having distance from your thoughts allows one to be less reactive in life situations and able to chose how to act rather than just reacting in most cases not as our best self.
Through the practices of Mindfulness, focused awareness, and regular practice, meditation is the ultimate act of self-care, allowing you to ground your energy, release accumulated stress, and reconnect with your innate inner peace.

I was introduced to Meditation in 2007 with a course in Mindfulness Meditation and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It helped tremendously in my mental and physical state and allowed me to be aware of any negative thinking. It helped my sleep quality, focus, higher level of happiness as a baseline. I continued with my Meditation practice and also practice Gratitude, Reiki healing meditations and Shamanic Meditations. I completely a Vipassana in 2024 and truly believe in the power of meditation.
